What’s on your creative to-do list for 2025? (+sneak peek)
One of the things I love most about starting a new year is the chance to reflect on the past and reset for what's ahead. It’s a fresh start—an opportunity to take a good look at what’s working, what’s not, and what needs to change.
"You're going to keep getting what you've been getting, if you keep doing what you've been doing." —Dave Ramsey My wife, Sondra, is the analytical one in our partnership. She’s all about spreadsheets and lists, and let me tell you—she’s been in full-on planning mode, organizing projects, prioritizing goals, and cutting down the ever-growing to-do list. It's always ambitious (no surprise there!). Me? I’ve been thinking about what I really want to paint this year. On average, I complete about a dozen paintings annually. It’s never as many as I’d like. There are always more ideas and inspirations than time to bring them all to life. My wife and I are very much alike in that respect. Too many things, never enough time. And she's also looking at how we can streamline, automate, and generally use our time (more) wisely. Especially since we want to focus more on my YouTube channel and creating a big new course on painting clouds. (🤫 Shhh. That's just between us!) Have you looked at what you want to accomplish in the coming year?Sondra is determined to learn to knit. I want to get back to playing golf and archery. If your goal is to sharpen your landscape painting skills, I’d love to be part of your journey. My online courses are designed to teach classical techniques that help landscape painters like you achieve stunning results. As we dive into 2025, just remember, as much as I believe in "trust the process" – it's ALSO important to enjoy the journey! Happy painting! Here are some ways I can help with your journey: ✧ Subscribe to my YouTube channel for free painting tips and insights. I share new videos several times a month. ✧ Elevate your painting skills with Mastering the Fundamentals of Landscape Painting—a comprehensive course trusted by over 500 students. ✧ Learn the art of color mixing with Painting Realistic Landscapes with a Limited Palette, reopening soon! |
